How does the exhibition work ?

It is born of one idea which can have many facets…

It is based on a single idea conceived by the International Council on Archives. It proposes a framework within which any country, institution, or non-governmental organisation which cares to do so, can use the archival record to bring infringements of human rights to public attention. You will therefore find that each part of the exhibition is structured in the same way.

An event which has resulted in violations of human rights will be taken by each partner. There will be different approaches, but all will take the same theme – archives and human rights.

…it tells the story of an event, and at the same time focuses on the sources, and their location and availability...

Each part of the exhibition presents the event by means of archival records, then the institution, the organisation or the association which preserves them and makes them available for public use.

... and enables to do the world tour of human rights violations.

The different parts of the exhibition will be linked like a chain by their common and universal theme. This world tour of human rights violations can begin and be continued at any point in this chain.
